SPATIAL PLANNER- D2
Salary Scale: D2 (P271, 020 – P299, 232 per annum)
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Urban Planning, Urban and Regional Planning or Town Planning.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 8 years work experience in Urban Planning with emphasis in Urban Design. Experience in urban redevelopment/regeneration projects is required and must be included in a Design Portfolio. Additionally, you must have demonstrable experience in the use of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Infraworks, Adobe Photoshop, LumenRT, Corel Draw, SketchUp, Microsoft Powerpoint, Global Mapper, Google Earth, Audodesk Revit Architecture and related design software. This must be demonstrated in the Design Portfolio. Candidates without these skills will not be shortlisted.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the Spatial Planner will be responsible for the spatial planning component of the Kasane/Kazungula Redevelopment Project, graphical representation of spatial data, urban design analysis, precinct planning, Sustainable Tourism Strategy and Master Plan and development of the Spatial Development Framework for the whole of Kasane/Kazungula area.
DUTIES
• Project management of spatial planning including report construction, activity planning, sequencing, resource planning, cost estimation, project documentation
• Risk management
• Time management
• Quality assurance
• Guide data collection & analyze all spatial data
• Develop preliminary spatial development framework
• Precinct planning
• Urban design analysis
• Graphical representation of spatial data
• 3D Renderings
• Presentation of precinct data analysis and design intervention
• Prepare development guidelines & standards for all priority precincts
• Provide spatial planning advisory to the Physical Planning Committee and Land Board
• Develop sector plans and cost estimates
• Stakeholder liaison
• Any other duties required to meet the exigencies of the service
