To provide hands on general maintenance and engine overhaul of the company fleet of machines and trucks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages the general maintenance of the all equipment and machines.
- Co-ordination, planning and scheduling with other departments i.e. production department to ensure timely availability of maintained machinery and trucks to achieve the production and delivery targets.
- Coordinating cooperation with other departments for efficient maintenance of machinery and vehicles cross checking of checklists, machinery and vehicles before dispatching for operation.
- Thorough knowledge of hydraulics, gear boxes, pneumatics important.
- Trouble shoots
- Coaching ability on preventive & predictive maintenance and vehicle maintenance by maintaining employee safety and morale of creating safe working and efficient working environment.
- Establishing Trainings needs and support for the workers & Associate Staff members.
- Driving stability, cost reduction, and systemic improvement of the workshop operations.
- Maintaining proper employment levels through assistance at selecting, interviewing, training and disciplining of personnel.
- Achieve results while working under a busy workshop i;e long hours, weekends and paid public holidays
- Coordinate ordering of spares for both yellow machines and trucks.
- Supervises staff and give technical advice on machines and trucks break downs. Fixing and ensures their availability throughout the month.
- Processing of vehicle insurance claims
- Managing and maintaining ware and tare of the fleet
Requirements
- Cambridge / O’level Certificate.
- National Trade Certificate (NTC 3) / N1 Certificate in Motor Mechanics.
- Driver’s Licence.
- Over 10 years’ experience as a Diesel Fitter Mechanic / Foreman in a Manufacturing/ mining or heavy plant industry.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, gear boxes, pneumatics important.
- Extensive knowledge in Heavy Duty Diesel Engines.
