SPECIALIZED VEGETARIAN CHEF

BAPS SWAMINARAYAN HINDU MISSION BOTSWANA, A HINDU TEMPLE (PLACE OF WORSHIP) located on Plot 39544, Block 6, Gaborone would like to invite suitable candidates for the position of Specialized Vegetarian Chef.

Worship services provided by the temple

The temple is a place of worship and daily prayers services are held in the mornings and evenings with the main Sunday service taking place 5.00PM TO 7.00PM and thereafter all the attendees are served with dinner. Hindu religion celebrates lots of Hindu festivals such Diwali (festival of lights) and new year celebrations, celebrations of the birthday our residing high priest, Vegetarian food festivals twice in a year. We have separate services for children under the age of 5, Young ones from 6 to 12 and youths from 12 to 21. Separate services Are also held for devotees from 21 to 40 years old. After all the services Pure vegetarian food without garlic and onions is prepared by served After the above services.
Further the HOLY DIETIES OF GOD are served daily with morning breakfast, lunch, at 4 pm fruits nuts and juices and dinner at about 6,30 Pm before the evening service.

Qualification and Experience required

The candidate should have Certificate in Catering and Food safety from the Food Safety and Standards Authority. Further, the candidate should Have working experience from a BAPS SWAMINARAYAN TEMPLE in order to learn and understand the requirements in food preparations and Hindu Rites and Rituals. The candidate is required to have experience of a minimum period of 3-5 years in the preparation of vegetarian food and should have specific knowledge in preparing vegetarian food for offering to deities in line with Swaminarayan Temple requirements and Hindu Rites and Rituals in general.

Personal qualities and character

The candidate is required to be decent, sober, non-alcoholic and non-smoker with references from previous employers.

In addition, the candidate is required to be expert and be able to cook various Gujarati meals, sweets & confectionaries i.e. mohanthal, penda, barfi, bundi ladoo, kaju katri, khaman, dhokra, kachori, samosas, ghota, bhajia, pav bhaji, vada pav including various other specialized vegetarian items.
