Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the support team, maintenance crew making sure that everyone knows their tasks and works safely
- Ground Support and stability through overseeing installation of support systems like bolts, mesh, props to keep tunnels and shafts stable and prevent collapse
- Plan daily tasks, assign tasks and make sure is completed on time without delays affecting production
- Checking that tools and machinery used by the support team are in good condition and reports faults for repair
- Guide new workers, providing on job training and ensuring that the team understands procedures and standards
- Problem solving make quick decisions to fix problems and keep operations moving safely
- Keeping records of work done, safety checks, incidents and material used then report to higher management
- Safety management, safety is a big deal in mining industry, a team leader ensures all workers follow safety procedures, wear proper PPE and comply with regulations to prevent accidents and incidents
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Support Team leader
- Underground Mine blasting licence
- Underground mining experience
- SHEQ consciousness
- Ability to read and write reports in English
