Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees both electronic and paper based patient records, ensuring they are complete, accurate and up to date.
  • Maintaining patient privacy and ensuring records comply with set standards.
  • Supervise Medical records staff.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of records, participates in audits, quality improvement activities and accreditation processes and generates reports,
  • Manage electronic health records systems, update technology as needed and facilitate the transition from paper to digital records. Troubleshoot system issues and ensure proper scanning and data entry.
  • Managing and responding to requests from stakeholders for decision making.
  • Train staff on proper records management procedures, medical coding etc.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Medical Records or Health Information systems/Management
  • Strong organisational analytical and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and health care procedures and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Records and basic computer applications.
  • A minimum of (2) years satisfactorily service as Medical Records Officer or Health Information systems or Management.
