Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain health & safety policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of underground facilities, equipment and processes to identify hazards, risks and non-compliance issues
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on S&H matters to management, employees and stakeholders
- Maintain records and documentation of S&H activities, inspections, logging of incidents, and corrective actions/verifications
- Promote a culture of safety & health and continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Conduct incident/accident investigations
- Facilitate daily pre-shift meetings
Requirements
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an HSE role (preferably similar industry)
- Must have full knowledge of applicable OHS Management Systems
- Recognized Incident Investigation Course (ICAM ideally)
- Knowledge and Awareness of relevant Botswana OHS statutes
- Blasting License (advantage)
- Relevant certifications (e.g. NEBOSH/IOSH) an added advantage
- Driver’s License (Class B)
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Strong communication & reporting skills
