Key Responsibilities

  • Establish training requirements each week with the relevant supervisors and ensure that the mine manager/foreman approves training requests.
  • Ensure that task observations are being conducted by all supervisors as per the safety plan requirements.
  • Ensure that fortnightly emergency response team training is conducted.
  • Conduct task observations concentrating on inexperienced or recently ticketed operators.
  • Assist in the facilitation of emergency drills.
  • Conduct both theory and practical assessments for the workforce as per matrix requirements.
  • Ensure matrix updated on a weekly basis at the very minimum, and the matrix should be posted in the relevant supervisor’s office.

Requirements

  • Diploma in occupational health and safety or equivalent.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Extensive experience and relevant knowledge of contemporary underground mining practices to maximise safety and productivity.
  • First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a safety professional role within Underground mining.
  • Driver’s Licence, First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator.
  • Current Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) qualifications.
