PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled, reliable and hardworking Upholsterer to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will repair, restore, manufacture and upholster quality furniture, ensuring excellent workmanship, comfort, durability and professional finishing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Upholster and re-upholster couches, chairs, beds, headboards, benches and other furniture.
  • Measure, cut and fit fabric, leather, vinyl, foam, padding, springs and webbing.
  • Sew, repair and restore covers and lead/upholstered furniture.
  • Strip and re-upholster frames and repair furniture using as where required.
  • Ensure accurate measurements, neat finishing and quality workmanship.
  • Minimise material wastage and maintain a clean, safe workshop.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and meet required deadlines.
  • Record and report completed jobs and material requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in upholstery and furniture making.
  • Experience upholstering couches, chairs, beds, headboards and other furniture.
  • Knowledge of fabric, leather, vinyl, foam, springs and webbing.
  • Ability to read drawings, designs and specifications.
  • Relevant Carpentry or Joinery or Furniture Making Certificate is required.
  • Valid Class B Driver’s License is an added advantage.
