Key Responsibilities
- Upholster and re-upholster couches, chairs, beds, headboards, benches and other furniture.
- Measure, cut and fit fabric, leather, vinyl, foam, padding, springs and webbing.
- Sew, repair and restore covers and lead/upholstered furniture.
- Strip and re-upholster frames and repair furniture using as where required.
- Ensure accurate measurements, neat finishing and quality workmanship.
- Minimise material wastage and maintain a clean, safe workshop.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and meet required deadlines.
- Record and report completed jobs and material requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in upholstery and furniture making.
- Experience upholstering couches, chairs, beds, headboards and other furniture.
- Knowledge of fabric, leather, vinyl, foam, springs and webbing.
- Ability to read drawings, designs and specifications.
- Relevant Carpentry or Joinery or Furniture Making Certificate is required.
- Valid Class B Driver’s License is an added advantage.
