The University is looking for a qualified and experienced individuals for the below-stated positions. The successful candidates will be appointed on pensionable terms or a fixed-term contract of up to five (5) years. The position is based at the BIUST Campus, Palapye.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with colleagues on curriculum development and the advancement of the relevant discipline
- Deliver teaching over a range of modules within an established programme
- Undertake student tutoring and support
- Conduct individual research or work on collaborative projects
- Supervise students projects (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels)
- Source external and internal research funding from national and international donors
- Community engagement
- Prepare and submit proposals, supervise projects and graduate students, synthesise information to design learning experiences, and go seek out research grants/funding
Requirements
- PhD in Mining Engineering with specialization in Computer Applications (versatile in the use of Surpac, Datamine & other mining engineering software), Surface Mining, Underground Mining, Mine Machinery, Mine Backfill, Materials Handling and Explosives and Rock Fragmentation, from a recognized institution.
- Master of Science/Engineering in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution
- Bachelor of Science/ Engineering in Mining Engineering.
- Registration with relevant professional bodies
- Atleast six years post-doctoral post-doctoral experience in either teaching/lecturing/research or industry experience in the relevant field or discipline, at least four of which must be a Graduate supervision including successful Doctoral students.
- Experience in teaching at tertiary level for at least 3 years.
- A sustained and recent record of peer-reviewed publications and other research output over at least a six-year period (min. of 16 peer-reviewed publications of ISI journals / scopus or web of science indexed journals)
- Experience of obtaining external research funding
- Evidence of research grant awarded
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
