PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Manage overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the day to day running of the Lodges. Implement procurement strategies to maintain cost-effective deals. The incumbent is tasked with overseeing the day to day running of the warehouse and the team, ensuring efficient and effective systems including asset management. They will also be responsible for maintaining fuel supply and coordinating with logistic partners.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
•Liaises with Lodge Management to determine their product and service needs to ensure their guest needs are met.
•Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
•Researches new products and services to meet company’s goals
•Assesses total costs of company purchases, analyse the trends and present findings to the Finance Manager and Managing Director.
•Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels
•Management of the annual operational and capex budgets.
•Oversees various team ranging from Administrators, Equipment Repair & Maintenance and the purchasing team.
•Manage all procurement systems (manual & online) and ensure that all users are adequately trained.
•Set standards for corrective and preventative maintenance procedures for the procurement fleet and equipment.
•Draw up and manage service level agreements with both external and internal stakeholders to safeguard the interest of the Company and ensure an efficient delivery of goods and services to the Lodges.
•Establish transport schedule for local transporters and ensure all good are transported in and out of lodges in adherence with the company environmental standards.
•Assist in the correct waste management procedures being adhered to in the concessions ensuring compliance to the environmental standards.
•A Diploma in Procurement & Supply / equivalent
•Minimum of 10 years of management experience in the Lodge industry.
•Leadership skills, specifically in managing diverse management teams.
•Experience of working in remote locations will be an added advantage.
•Proven leadership and outstanding staff management skills
•Shown dedication to eco-tourism
•Ability to set budgets and control spend
•Excellent communication, organization and planning skills
