Key Responsibilities
- General management of operations staff & fleet.
- Ensure proper performance and safety of vehicles and equipment.
- Correct unsafe working conditions.
- Conduct toolbox talks with drivers, operators, mechanics & assistants at the start of each day.
- To impart knowledge on how to operate, maintain, rebuild, replace or repair all components, assemblies and systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, etc.
- Estimate time and materials required to train staff & perform major repairs.
- To ensure proper analysis of engine performance and make sure tune ups are done as and when needed.
- Monitor routine vehicle maintenance and preventative care.
- Make sure all vehicle breakdowns are always attended to.
- Make sure all parts are readily available and negotiate prices.
- Have good understanding of vehicle faults and where to look for the problems.
- Experience of training & administrative work
- IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Requirements
- At least five years’ relevant professional experience
- Relevant diploma or qualification from an accredited institution.
- Class B drivers’ license or better (Class EC).
- Fleet management experience
- People management experience
