Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency [CEDA] is looking to attract top talent for the following positions:

 

Litigation Counsel

This position reports to Senior Litigation Counsel

Main Purpose of the Job

To represent the Agency in debt recovery and collections matters.

 

Key Performance Areas

a] Recovery of monies due to the Agency in respect of portfolio arrears and other

accounts receivable

b] Quality of legal advice on matters related to debt recovery

c ] Researches and prepares detailed legal opinion on matters related to debt recovery referred by the.

d] Prepares cases and documentation for litigation and represents the Agency in Court hearings to promote and protect the interests of the Agency in debt recovery matters.

 

e] Instructs external attorneys and counsel and assists in the presentation of cases where directed in civil litigation matters.

f] Instructs and directs Deputy Sheriffs in matters relating to the recovery of portfolio arrears and other accounts due to the Agency.

9] Reviews loan arrears and other defaults and makes recommendations for instituting legal action where appropriate.

h] Supervises, manages and checks for accuracy documentation prepared by the Legal Secretaries to ensure that all legal documentation is accurate and in accordance with laid down procedures, and the Agency’s standards and procedures.

Position Requirements

Education: LLB Degree and admission to practice as an attorney in the High Court of Botswana

Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in civil litigation and thorough knowledge of recovery of debts
