MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR – GARAGE – MORUPULE COAL MINE

MORUPULE COAL MINE IS A COAL MINING COMPANY IN BOTSWANA SITUATED 14 KILOMETRES WEST OF PALAPYE ALONG SEROWE/PALAPYE ROAD AND MINES COAL PRIMARILY FOR GENERATION OF ELECTRICITY IN BOTSWANA. THE COMPANY SEEKS TO INVITE SUITABLY QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED CITIZEN CANDIDATES FOR THE ABOVE POSITION.

Job Summary
To effectively coordinate maintenance and repair activities at the Morupule Coal Mine Garage section.

Key Activities
• Assists Asset Management Coordinator with R&M annual budget setting.
• Develops daily, weekly, monthly maintenance plans with Planner, Asset Management Coordinator and Production using approved CMMS.
• Ensures a high standard of Housekeeping in the workshop
• Manages Spares (critical spares) for the workshop.
• Manages and ensures quality work output.

 

 

• With the approval of the Engineer – carries out machinery modifications.
• Assists with breakdowns and after hours call-outs.
• Manages manpower for the section.
• Carries out breakdown evaluation.
• Keeps Engineer up to date with day to day activities
• Assists in drawing up all schedules for production machines
• Performs and draws up a lubrication schedule.
• Ensures section employees comply and work according to MCM SHE systems and requirements

Minimum Education or Qualifications:
• Must have passed ‘O’ Level certifi cate.
• NCC in Diesel Mechanic or N5-6 Diesel Mechanic Certificate or Diploma. Valid light duty Drivers licence.

• Training in maintenance of fl ameproof equipment and gas testing

• Knowledge of ONKEY 5 CMMS

 

• Knowledge and management of equipment life cycle activities

• Knowledge of SHE and Asset management systems (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 55000)

Competencies:
• Design and Construction of diesel machines
• Repair and Maintenance strategies for diesel equipment
• Diesel equipment fl ame proofi ng maintenance
• Diesel equipment life cycle activities

Key Skills and Experience:
• 8 years’ experience as an Artisan in a heavy industry preferably Mining.

• post qualifi cation experience in the mining industry including 3 years in a project or contractor management position.

 

• Experience in maintenance management of Komatsu Front End Loaders, Sandvik LS170 and LS190 LHD’s and Fermel equipment
