purpose
To develop the Bank’s lending strategy and manage the Bank’s retail lending product range with a view to deliver sustainable revenue growth and maintain a highly competitive business; covering home loans, personal loans, overdrafts and first funding.
experience and qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Banking or Finance.
- Master’s degree being an added advantage.
- Insurance Proficiency Certificate (Short Term/Long Term).
- At least 6 years’ experience in a sales or product development in a retail banking environment, 3 of which should have been at management/ senior level.

- Ensure growth in profit, balance sheet and sustainability indicators such as customer growth, VSI and market share.
- Ensure swift responsiveness to new ideas and changing market trends.
- Pull strategic resources together (Marketing, Finance, Service, MI etc) to ensure efficiency, growth and profitability of the retail lending portfolio.
- Develop strategies (product, marketing, sales, and service) to grow the business across segments and channels for retail banking.
- Ensure strategic continuity between all segments within retail. (consumer, premier and premium)
- Assist Segment Heads in driving performance of retail assets.
- Ensure robust pricing matrices are employed to maximize interest income for schemes and non-schemes loans to ensure market competitiveness and revenue growth.
- Closely manage First funding and Home Loans portfolio growths in line with the bank’s risk appetite
- Developing customer service improvement strategies and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders to achieve excellent customer experience. These include but not limited to Estate Agents, Developers, Schemes, Valuers and Attorneys.
- Identify product enhancement and pricing opportunities for growth of Retail Lending portfolio
- Assess, analyse, define, recommend, implement and follow up market intelligence, and marketing plans in order to meet retail strategic objectives.
- Manage relationship with top companies and schemes (including Estate Agents, Developers, Schemes, Valuers and Attorneys).
- Ensure return on investment by managing pricing, expenditure in marketing and other controllable costs.
