Records Management Officer

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Administration, the Records Management Officer will direct and manage the maintenance, distribution, use and retention and disposal of BGI’s records in accordance with policy standards to ensure optimal use of administrative records.

  • A Bachelors degree in Archives and Records Management / Information Management
  • 3 years post qualification within a reords management environment.

Performance Areas

  • Operational knowledge in records management policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to provide organisation and description capabilities, create classification schemes, thesauri, authority files, indexes, document classification scheme, apply and maintain classification.
  • Basic insight and understanding of converting manual/semi-electronic systems to fully electronic systems.
