TENABLE AT FRANCISTOWN PRISON INFECTIOUS DISEASE CONTROL CENTRE (IDCC)

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the above post tenable at Francistown Prison Infectious Diseases Control Centre (IDCC).

SALARY D4 (P187 716 – P207 240) per annum.

 

LEAVE 30 working days per annum

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To coordinate and maintain professional health standards in the delivery of preventive, curative and promotive health services at the Prison ARV site.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a Degree in Nursing and must be registered with the Nursing Council of Botswana.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience

DUTIES

•Coordinates the activities of the ARV Clinic with regard to ARV Program.

•Interprets broad policies and objectives of the Ministry of Health and identifies those relevant to Primary Health Care and ARV program.

•Facilitate effective and efficient delivery of Primary Health care Services particularly ARV, consistent with objectives.

•Set standards for Health Care delivery by the Prison Health teams in collaboration with senior management of Prison and Ministry of Health and in line with the regulations of the Medical Council.

•Monitors implementation to ensure programs particularly ARV program are relevant, effective and feasible in terms of personnel and material resources.

 

•Analyse records of relevance to Prison community health care particularly ARV to determine compliance with protocols and standards for curative, preventive and promotive health care.

•Provide necessary guidance to health team performance gaps and institutes appropriate measures.

•Facilitate interaction and coordinate activities between Primary Health Care Divisions/Council Health Departments

•Establish effective communication link between health workers by convening workshops, conferences and meetings.

•Prepare and submit annual program reports to relevant authorities.

•Undertakes any other related duties as required to meet the exigencies of the service.

 

REQUIREMENTS
•Botswana citizens in possession of a valid National Identity Card (Omang)
•Aged between 25- 45 years
•No adverse criminal record
•Physically and mentally fit (Pre-employment Medical Examination will be conducted)
•Valid Botswana Health Professional Council Registration Certificate
