SENIOR PLANT MANAGER – AVENG MOOLMANS

Aveng Moolmans, one of the largest opencast mining contractors in Africa, offers a complete open-pit mining capability with over 40 years’ experience in both hard and soft rock environments. In addition to its drill, blast, load and dump capabilities, Aveng Moolmans is well placed to provide mine planning, survey, production scheduling and grade control expertise.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
(DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

Maintain a high level of equipment availability and minimize fleet downtime
Ensure adequate earthmoving equipment stock levels are maintained
Responsible for the plant business plan
Responsible for the plant budget
Ensure proper plant records management
Responsible for performance management in the department
Responsible for training and development as well as motivation of staff
Ensure compliance to Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality policies, procedures and standards

Minimum Education or Qualifications:

National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Technical knowledge of heavy earthmoving plant maintenance systems and processes

Ability to drive innovation
Planning and organising for achievement of business goals
Ability to coach various levels of personnel for sustainable high performance
Plant Financial and accounting skills

Key Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Senior Plant Manager in an open pit mining environment
Experience in supplier management, warranty management, quality control and plant failure investigations
