Interested individuals aged between 24 and 28 years are invited to send applications for the position of Community Mobiliser in Palapye. This is a 7 months, full-time contract position, with the possibility for renewal. The successful candidate will report to the Program Officer based in Gaborone. The position may require travel, with the possibility of working extra hours. 

 


BACKGROUND TO PROJECT
The Young Take Charge (YTC) Project is a Gender and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project. It seeks to inculcate the ability of women and girls to protect themselves from gender based violence and protect their Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. The aim is to reduce the project beneficiaries` vulnerability to sexual hazards; as well as to ensure that young people have access to information on SRHR, gender based violence; and to services they need, through improved help seeking behaviors. 

 


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION 


-Provide GBV related counselling to clients.
-Organize and conduct GBV/ HIV community prevention and educational activities.
-Raise awareness on adolescent SRHR, GBV and HIV.
-Mobilise adolescents in schools and in the community to advocate for SRHR issues affecting them.
-Promotes KSWS services.
-Undertakes any other related duties as may be required by the supervisor

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
-At least BGCSE, preferably a Certificate in Social Work, Counselling and Community Development.
-A minimum of 1 year work experience practicing in any of the above.

-Experience in project planning and management is an added advantage
