Chief Executive Officer – Minerals Development Company Botswana (Pty) Ltd

Minerals Development Company Botswana (Pty) Ltd is an investment company wholly owned and established by the Government of Botswana to grow, optimise and diversify the Government’s mining and mineral investment portfolio with a view to generating attractive returns in an active, innovative and responsible manner. MDCB also provides advisory services (commercial and technical) to the Government and facilitates the development of Botswana’s mining and minerals sector.

The organisation is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer who will oversee the growth of the organisation and lead it to effectively deliver on its mandate. He/She will need to have necessary competences in investment and financial management, strategic plan development and implementation, and effective stakeholder relationship management both within the organisation and externally. The right candidate for this position should have high commercial aptitude and a proven track record in leadership roles.

Applicants to this position should possess a bachelor’s degree in Mining, Engineering, Investment, Business, Finance, or related fields. They must also have a minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the mining industry, 5 of which should have been at Executive Management Level. Postgraduate qualification and experience with organisational transformation and investment decisions will be an added advantage.
