Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, with a high focus on safety, your role will be to render technical advise, support and mentoring to mining site maintenance teams to improve the reliability and availability of the EMV fleet. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness.
- Promote and comply with all the site SHEQ standards and Legal requirements.
- Provide assurance on safe and effective repair and maintenance standards, performed on machines and components at mining sites.
- Render technical advice, support and mentoring to mining site maintenance teams.
- Provide instruction and training to operating personnel.
- Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic control systems, engines, transmission drive systems etc to resolve complex problems.
- Take part in assembling and commissioning of machines deployed to mining sites.
- Participate in the development and modifications of systems in all phases of the machines life cycle for product improvement realizations.
- Provide technical recommendations based on analysis of reliability input drivers.
Minimum Requirements
- Deep industry and product knowledge in the fields of electrics, electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and control systems.
- Equivalence of National Craft Certificate in the field Diesel mechanics, Heavy Plant, Mechanics, Millwright or equivalent.
- Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills as well as post failure analysis on warranty related activities on mining equipment such as Liebherr, Komatsu and Caterpillar.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings and to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) audits and analysis.
- Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
- Experience in rebuilding of earth moving machines.
- Must have knowledge of Quality and SHEQ control systems.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the supervision of personnel.
- Computer literate.
