Job Summary

The overall goal of this position is to secure that HPP is well known by the general public and especially in donor circles, and that there is an understanding of HPP’s concrete activities in order to raise the interest for partnering with the Organization. The position reports to the National Partnership Manager and is based in Gaborone.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Develop a plan for the organization’s communication strategies
• Support to raise profile and publicity of HPP’s programs
• Develop and implement annual communication and promotion activity plans
• Engage the public on HPP programs and projects, mission and results through various media platforms
• Conduct periodic field visits to HPP projects to collect background information, results, photos, statistical results and project impact analyses
• Develop and implement a plan for liaising with the media
• Train HPP’s communication production unit to improve documentation skills
• Develops and implement targeted social media and website plans to reach target specific audiences
• Design  and  produce  the  organizations  IEC  materials  as  per  the  organization’s guidelines and donor’s requirements (both print and audio visual)

 

• Develop project specific brand and marking plans and/or visibility plans as per donors requirements
• Ensure that the organization and the projects are implementing and following all communication requirements as outlined by different donors
• Write and edit speeches for the organizations’ high level engagements

 

Qualifications and Key Requirements :

 

• A  relevant  communication  Degree  such  as  media  studies,  journalism,  public information or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role and having experience working with donor funded projects will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of adobe creative suite software (InDesign/Photoshop/Premiere)
• Proficient  in  Microsoft  Office,  content  management  systems  and  social  media platforms
• Developed understanding of needs of media and public audiences  preferably with NGO relevant approach
• Experience in implementation of community projects
