Purpose of the Role

To contribute to the education of the whole child, attending to the intellectual, emotional, physical and social development.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budget and operates within approved parameters
• Complies with all requirements pertaining to the teaching profession
• Advises School heads, Heads of Department on appropriate teaching methods and student assessment in area of specialization
• Advises the School Head/Education Manager on need for supplementary or specialized resources for teaching and /or learning
• Conducts needs analysis by evaluating lesson observations, subject knowledge, proficiency attainment, teacher reports and study skills
• Recommends specific interventions by teachers for pupil instructional and learning support
• Recommends specific strategies and provide interventions for pupil remediation within subject of specialization
• Guides and supports teachers selecting the most appropriate instructional techniques to best meet students needs
• Organizes teachers workshops to meet identified teachers development needs as approved by Headmaster/Principal / Education Manager
• Observes the teachers/learners at work and at play in order to establish effective implementation of strategies
• Makes recommendations on classroom management and organization to Individual teachers/Departmental Heads/School Heads/Principal / Education Manager
• Writes reports with recommendation on revision of subject strategy, teacher specialist program to Head of Academics Debswana Management
• Performs an array of administrative duties, including but not limited to; photocopying and collation of teaching material, newsletters, etc. and collation of pupils’ files

Other Job Responsibilities

• Implements safety, Health & environment programmes in the area of responsibility taking cognizance of all legal requirements

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Primary Education with specialisation in Science

Experience

•  3 years post qualification teaching experience at primary school level.

•   Education, Training & Development Practices (ETDP) will be an added advantage
