Maintenance Foreman – Parmalat Botswana

Reporting To: Technical Manager

Purpose of Job: To optimize equipment availability to production

Key Performance Areas

• Ensure day to day planning and scheduling of maintenance work and update all log books and keep all records of all plant equipment
• Carry out planned maintenance of plant equipment and update the planning schedule on Pragma System
• Carry out and be responsible for all maintenance of machines to HACCP standards
• Keep repair and maintenance costs within budget and manage maintenance budget within parameters
• Maintain section targets and improve targets of plant KPA’s
• Provide technical support to UHT technicians for whatever projects being implemented as well as to SHE
• Manage spares to ensure availability at all times
• Ensure safety custody of all technical documentation and drawings for the plant
• Provide on the job training for artisans, provide work to them and ensure completion of tasks
• Adhere to Food Safety System and ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to
• Discipline of staff

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or NCC
• Minimum 3 years experience in Plant Maintenance within FMCG environment and at least 1 years experience as a Maintenance Foreman
• Must have a demonstrable knowledge of maintenance ERP System and Budget Control
• TBA 8 Maintenance course is an added advantage
• Computer literacy with sound knowledge of MS Office, control instruments and PLC’s
• Good knowledge of boilers, compressors and refrigerators

• Ability to identify and efficiently install required equipment involving all related cross functional players
• Ability to align Parmalat Supply chain plans with the supply chain strategies of the customer, to ensure the appropriate level of customer service whilst minimising out of stock issues
• Ability to manage large and complex projects. Ability to manage internal and external resources
• Ability to sustain and support Preventive Maintenance Programs
• Demonstrated knowledge of specific packaging equipment, materials and properties used in industry. Ability to use that knowledge as well as related covenants and sustainability techniques
• Ability to analyse trends, benchmark against industry competitors and select best way of the highest possible efficiency
• Ability to maintain equipment by doing routine calibrations and conduct proper troubleshooting of faulty equipment
• Willingness to embrace positive change and work well with people
