Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for leading a team of Claims Recovery Specialists, providing technical advice and oversight focused on evaluating legal liability and aggressively pursuing, negotiating, and resolving subrogation collection in the event of loss.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide operational and technical management of team of specialists and work alongside the recovery department to develop strategy and maximize benefits in areas of responsibility.
- Provide technical and strategic advice about recovery services and procedures.
- Managing the day-to-day operations and take responsibility for the performance, coaching and development of the recovery team.
- Lead a team of Recovery Technicians and Specialists who trace and identify the party that is to be pursued for
recovery. - Works collaboratively with claims leadership, claims adiusters/customers to improve recovery outcomes Sharing results of operations with Management.
- Provides oversight to highly complex cases by communicating with claims; customer, legal experts, and
underwriters. - Actively monitor and steer highly complex cases.
- Identify bottlenecks in recoveries’ process and make improvements.
- Handle technical referrals, complaints and works closely with Claims team on Claims Recovery performance.

Qualification and Experience
- He/she must have a relevant University Degree in any Business-related Degree.
- Professional qualification in insurance or good progress in an insurance qualification (AIISA/FISA) will be an added advantage.
- Subrogation and arbitration experience a plus.
- At least 6 years’ experience of supervising a similarly sized team, 5 years’ hands-on experience in a recoveries/claim’s operations setup
- General Insurance experience will be an added advantage.
