International Accountant

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of International Accountant for the RDC Properties International (Proprietary) Limited group, reporting to the CFO.

Responsibilities include:

1. Financial reporting, processes, internal controls and structures for the International Investments (knowledge of the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) regime advantageous).
2. Assisting the CFO with financial management of the group, using budgeting, cash flows, intercompany charges optimization, tax planning, foreign exchange risk management processes and other treasury management techniques.
3. Communicating with Country Accountants. Consultants and Project Managers.
4. Assisting CFO in the preparation of reports for board meetings and annual general meetings.
5. Comparing results with the budgets and corresponding figures for the previous period, along with the identification, analysis and explanation of variances.
6. Facilitating the year-end audit process, ensuring the internal and statutory deadlines are met for finalisation of the books of account.

7. Reviewing the Trial Balances and Account Reconciliations and Analysing the Management Accounts.
8. Ensuring that the relevant companies are adequately covered on all aspects by appropriate insurances.
9. Ensuring statutory compliance under the IFSC rules.
10. Overseeing legal & regulatory compliance in the various countries.
11. Preparation of consolidated financial statements for the International Developments and presenting them to the Group Finance Manager on a monthly basis.
12. Ensuring intercompany balances are reconciled within the Group on a monthly basis.
13. Any other duties which is within the normal accounting functions as directed by the management.

Applicant must possess, at a minimum, be a member of BICA. Part Qualified in ACCA/BICA or equivalent and a Bachelors’ Degree in accounting with 5 years proven work experience. Applicant must be computer literate with Microsoft Office knowledge (Excel. Word. PowerPoint etc.). Detailed working knowledge of ERP accounting software (MDA) is an advantage.
