Company and Situation Background:

Kamoso Africa (Kamoso) is a diversified consumer facing retailer and manufacturer/distributor, operating primarily in Botswana. It consists of eight businesses: a building products retailer; chain of liquor stores; a supplier of food and FMCG products; supplier of refrigeration and catering equipment; a distributor of medical products; a bottler of drinking water; a
manufacturer of tissues; and a miller of grains. The Company has over $100m in annual revenues. A key cluster of the Group comprises of businesses that are suppliers to various retail outlets The company is based in Botswana but also provides goods and services to South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe with plans to expand into Namibia and Mozambique.

VACANCY
A vacancy exists within a division of the Kamoso Distribution/Builders Mart, in the hardware
Successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

· Must have verifiable experience in ALL of the below areas of the vacancy.
· At least 25 years formal management positions held in a corporate environment, related mostly to Retail & wholesale operations, Human Resources, construction & hardware and Sales & marketing.
· Must have at least 5 years’ experience in the retail/wholesale hardware industry at a management level, ideally in Botswana as well.
· Must have at least 5 years’ experience in managing imports and exports of hardware and construction materials.

· Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a management position related to health and safety in the construction/industrial industries.
· Must have experience in formulation of operational, budgetary and financial reports for boards of directors/shareholders.
· Have educational qualification in Business Management, Procurement or any related qualification

The vacant position will be responsible for:
· Policy and strategy formulation regarding all group procurement and inventory management, with key focus on cashflow, inventory turns, product offering.
· Supplier management to optimise and strengthen supplier relationships.
· Management of the procurement and logistics team with the aim of achieving centralised distribution and cost effective inventory levels.

· Roll-out and maintenance of the ERP system in terms of inventory management.
· Development, implementation and maintenance of process flows and the group policies (SOP’s)
spanning all operations.
· Operational responsibility of all inventories in Botswana in terms of maintaining inventory levels optimally at all retail operations.
· Continually research and refine the group product offering and exploring growth opportunities in the market.
· Developing a high standard of product merchandising across all operations to maximize the shopper experience in BM stores.
· Apply L.E.A.N. principles in all areas under management.
