RISK & COMPLIANCE ASSISTANT – OLD MUTUAL BOTSWANA

TEMPORARY POSITION – 6 MONTHS, GABORONE, BOTSWANA

Old Mutual Botswana is a member of the Old Mutual Group. We offer a wide range of short-term and long-term insurance services in Botswana with branches in Gaborone and Francistown. Our products provide insurance services to personal, commercial and corporate clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a responsible and self-driven individual to perform Risk and compliance services. You will be expected to represent our company in a professional manner at all times when dealing with different stakeholders.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Compliance
– Develop, drive and monitor compliance monitoring plans for the subsidiaries
– Establish a strong governance and compliance culture and the implementation of
policies and risk conscious behaviours
– Drive the implementation of the AML Program across the subsidiaries

2. Legal
– Provision of legal advice and support to the subsidiaries
– Ensure that all litigation and related legal matters are dealt with effectively and are
reported appropriately

3. Risk
– Drive and monitor the risks within the subsidiaries for risk mitigation
– Ensure timely escalation and reporting
– Conduct functional training workshops across compliance, risk and governance

4. Board
– Bind packs and ensure timely delivery to stakeholders

JOB REQUIREMENTS

– A Law (LLB)/ Risk management/Related
degree from a recognized and accredited
institution essential
– Experience in a risk & compliance environment
is an added advantage
– Knowledge of insurance law an added
advantage
