Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

Reporting to the Mining Manager, the position is responsible for overseeing of site geotechnical monitoring programs, providing support for analysis to optimize mine designs, implement continuous improvement measures. Application of  geotechnical expertise to rock slopes, waste dumps and blast vibration analysis.

Review of work by external consultants; performance of regular geotechnical inspections. Ensuring that mining activities progress safely and in accordance with sound geotechnical engineering standards

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Geology/Mining, plus a qualification in Rock Mechanics; A minimum of six (6) years’ work experience in mining or hard rock mining relating to rock mechanics and rock slope stability; Open pit experience will be an advantage; A clean Class B driver’s license.
