Study Physician wanted at Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership

Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership is a collaborative research and training initiative between government of Botswana and the Harvard School of Public Health. BHP is dedicated to fight HIV/AIDS and related public health challenges through collaborative research, education and capacity building.

We seek assertive, hands on, results driven individuals, with good interpersonal skills and keen interest in research to join our team in the following position;

Study Physician

The incumbent will report to the Physician Coordinator and will be Working closely with stakeholders, study recruiters and other study team members to ensure a smooth recruitment and retention process and that accrual targets are reached timorously.

S/He will be expected to:

• Provide medical care to study participants, including STI and HIV prevention and management
• Participate in the day to day conduct of the clinical study consistent with the study protocol good clinical practice and regulatory requirements
• Maintain research records, provide reports and ensure timely feedback to the onsite study coordinator and participate in data quality management
• Supervise the clinical study team at assigned study site or area
• Participate in the development of protocols, operations and research procedures
• Participate in the development of training materials and in training of research staff
• Participate in community awareness on research protocols

Required Skills and Qualification

• Bachelor of Medicine and surgery with 1 year post qualification experience
• HIV/ARV related training course
• Further experience of active management of HIV/AIDS patients HAART prescribing and involvement in HIV clinical research will be added advantage
