Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidates will be responsible for the Planning, developing and designing quality policies and establishing quality procedures in line with Botswana laws, local and adopted international standards in consultation with concerned committees/ teams and departments.

•Adopts and develops hospital quality policies and ensure that there are no contradictions or duplication of policies in aid to establishment of good and effective hospital quality program.
•Develops Hospital quality management programme, ensuing that agreements exists that ensure harmony between departments in pursuit of good quality clinical and non-clinical services like security, infection control and prevention, diet, cleanliness in all areas of the hospital including but not limited to general areas, wards , OPD, OT, and other hospital facilities such as bathrooms, kitchen including outsourced services.
•Monitor compliance to all regulatory requirements such as Bank/Storage license, standards and oversees quality audits / periodic assessments and ensures that action plans are developed to close any identified gaps.
•Provides quality guideline/check list for documentation review and reports and procedures
•Oversees and ensures that strict confidentiality of medical files is kept and that medical files are opened and closed as per stipulated standards.
•Guides and assist in the development of documentation policy and formats and ensures that all policies and formats and manuals are standardized across hospital and in compliance with documentation policy.
•Continuously reviews the relevant of all hospital policies and where necessary updates the documentation process and Hospital information System including reviewing the system’s documentation flows across hospital to improve efficiencies.

Works closely with Technical Services Manager to ensure that that good maintenance records are kept including non-functional equipment’s and maintenance schedule to ensure that quality standards are not compromised.
•Works closely with external auditors to ensure that the Hospital achieves its accreditation status and maintains same
•Institutes an effective grievance redressal system for patients and ensures feedback mechanisms are functional by producing timely reports to facilitates good customer service


Minimum Job Requirements

•Bachelor in Healthcare Quality Management, Degree in Medicine or equivalent Candidate should be registered with Botswana Health Professional Council.
•Seven years’ experience in health quality management environment, three of which should have been at a supervisory level in a Quality Department. Documentation Management and Public Health experience are essential and preference will be given to a candidate with experience in Health Care Quality management experience such as Joint Commission International (JCI) and ISO 9001:2008
