Community Based Interventions for HIV/AIDS in Botswana Project (ExCAB)

HPP Botswana is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the available positions of the upcoming USAID funded project to implement an activity to support the maintenance and uninterrupted delivery of quality HIV/AIDS services within communities and strengthen the community and health systems in Botswana with an emphasis on the delivery of integrated HIV services. This position is contingent on the project: Community Based Interventions for HIV/AIDS in Botswana Project (ExCAB).

Job opportunity: Community Health Workers-Care (Kweneng East (x5) Francistown (x6)- Full Time

JOB SUMMARY/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Community Health Worker will be in charge of all field work and conduct data collections and reporting. CHW will be based at the project site under the supervision of the SCHW.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Conduct mapping and registration of key population in assigned target area
• Plan, implement all scopes of work in communities and outside the fields.
• Identify key informant persons (opinion leaders, Traditional healers etc) in your target community and engage to support project activities
• Utilize data collection tools to accurately and comprehensively record and report progress
• Facilitate formation of DUO/TRIO for each TB case, ARV treatment interrupters to support and monitor treatment adherence
• Collaborate with health care facilities to identify loss to follow up of TB , ARV clients
• Utilize M&E tools to accurately record and report progress

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ideal candidates should have completed BGCSE with extensive experience in HIV management and basic counselling.
• Has counselling certificate
• Passion for working for your community and willing to move house to house.

EXCELLENT INTERPERSONAL SKILLS.

Ability to communicate effectively in English and Setswana, both in written and verbally Experience in establishing and maintaining good relationships with a wide variety of professionals and organizations.
