PRODUCTION CYLINDER FILLER FRANCISTOWN

A vacancy exist for Cylinder Filler reporting to the Sales Centre Supervisor based at Francistown. This position is responsible for inspecting and filling cylinders to ensure a quality product for customers is produced and to perform production administration tasks.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Adherence to all filling policies, standards and procedures/ processes
• Adherence to Safety standards and procedures
• Cylinder handling or moving of cylinders
• Checking all cylinders for dents, bulges, rust, corrosion, cuts, etc.
• Checking valve guards and add foot ring.
• Calibrating scales.
• Checking for obstructing materials near filler machine. Checking machine valves (open/closed/tampered with) and informing supervisor of any problems.
• Monitoring stock of empty cylinders and inform Operations Manager of any problems.
• Checking pressure on bulk tank and actual content of bulk tank and informing Operations Manager/Line manager of any problems.
• Conducting housekeeping at filling station.
• Fire-fighting team member.
• Monitoring adherence to safety procedures in the yard (self and others). Reporting of any problems.
• Recording “near-misses” and hand to Safety Representative.

The successful applicant should be in possession of a BGCSE or Equivalent certificate, six months experience and one month on the job training. This position requires an efficient, dedicated and detailed oriented individual with knowledge of gas a prerequisite. Further competencies required include performance through people, information sharing and capability development.
