PART B: JOB DETAILS
Primary Job Purpose
Responsible for all functions and supervision of accounts and related systems and preparation of periodic MIS (Monthly income statements). Management, overseeing and controlling
Key Performance Areas (KPA) Duties and Responsibilities/Tasks Critical Outcomes
1. Daily Sales Reports • Ensuring that daily sales are reconciled with the report from the branches and the K8 report
• Ensuring that all cash and cheques sales are deposited on time.
• Verify daily deposits made by branches
• Check for branch shortages and correct such accordingly.
• Communicate with Bank for any deposit anomalies (should need arises)
2. Daily Bank Reconciliation • Ensuring that all daily bank reconciliations are done
3. Non Stock Debtors reconciliation and preparation of monthly reports
4. Payroll supervision
• Checking payroll
• Loading new employee on Salaries folder and deleting the resigned/ terminated employees.
• Load salaries in the salaries folder
5. Audit Preparation
• Preparing audit schedules during the preparation of Audit
• Requesting all the documents required by the Auditors from the Financial Institutions.
6. Payments • Ensuring that foreign transactions are captured accordingly with proper rates and month end rate is captured and the loss/ gain on foreign exchanged is derived
Loading all payments for Stock and Non suppliers
7. Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Check trial balance before passing of management accounts
8. Ensure that all legislative documentation are filed on time and accurately and also liaise with Tax department on tax issues • Ensuring that all Tax are filed online on the BURS portal before due dates monthly (VAT, PAYE and OWHT) an Annual returns are file on time.
• Ensure that SARS account is cleared by ensuring that all tax refunds have been submitted and paid.
9. Maintaining Assets Register • Ensuring that all asserts purchased are recorded accordingly and captured in the system
10. Monitoring all loans • Ensuring that all loans are paid on time (that is Floor Plans, Vehicle loans, Mortgage loans and Related parties loans.
11. Capitalising all loan interest monthly • Ensuring that all loan interest are capitalised every month as per the loan amortization schedules and loan statement
12. Depreciating all the asserts as per GAAS and IAS
• Ensuring that all asserts are depreciated accordingly as per the General Audited Acceptance Auditing Standards (GAAS) and International Audit Standards (IAS)
13. Direct Credits and RD cheques • Ensuring that the branches are claiming their direct credits and allocate the payments.
• Ensuring that all RD cheques are being replaced on reasonable time
PART C: JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
• AAT or equivalent = Five (5) years’ experience in a financial environment
• Part Qualified = Three (3) years’ experience served in a Retail Sector = Experience supervising accounts staff

• VIP Payroll knowledge, Retail software, Tax Computations ( VAT, PAYE, WHT, SARS) Relevant Management Diploma / Degree
