Rehabilitation Officer (Physiotherapist/ Occupational Therapist) – Tshidilo Stimulation Centre

 

Tshidilo Stimulation Centre is a community based Non- Governmental Organization based in Maun that exists to provide rehabilitation and advocacy for children with disabilities in the North West District. The centre invites suitably qualified individuals for the below stated positions;

Rehabilitation Officer (Physiotherapist/ Occupational Therapist) (1 post).

Qualifications & experience

• Degree/ Diploma in any of the following;
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Or any related field
• At least 2 years’ minimum relevant work experience
• No criminal record.

Main duties:

• To bead and run the therapy department with a view to stimulate and rehabilitate children with disabilities,
• To plan the work of the therapy department,
• Proper upkeep of equipment and ensure that the supply of materials needed in the department are available,
• To guide, encourage and teach subordinates to improve the quality of the service provided to children with disabilities.
• To assess children with disabilities referred to Tshidilo Stimulation Centre and plan therapy and treatment accordingly.
• To assess the needs of the clients and where necessary refer them to medical practitioners, social workers, orthopedic technicians, surgeons, speech therapists, audiologists, eye specialists etc.
• To plan and implement Community Based Rehabilitation and assist other members of the team.
• Undertakes any other assignment as directed by Management to meet the exigency of duty.
