Job Description
The Senior Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the effective and successful delivery of the HR function across the midstream. This will involve facilitating effective business partnerships by promoting people management practices to support all the needs of their business strategies. This role requires the design and implementation of a midstream people strategy aligned to the overall De Beers Global HR Strategy adapting as required to optimise effectiveness whilst maintaining the integrity of the strategy.

The successful candidate will
- Provide leadership to ensure people and organisation capabilities (e.g. culture of innovation) are in place to execute the commercial strategy by managing workload, assigning tasks and reviewing/recognising outputs of team members.
- Provide strategic direction to both DBGSS and midstream Exco from a people management perspective.
- Guide EXCO to provide the relevant functions with effective tactical and operational support across the full range of HR activities.
- Manage quality of service delivery to ensure successful overall business results at DBGSS.
- Develop policies and procedures in line with local legislation to enable implementation of business and strategic objectives.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to Group HR standards and procedures within the Business Unit.
- Ensure accurate and relevant communication is delivered to employees on time.
- Utilise common methods of analysis and consistent ways of presenting information e.g. risks and opportunities to the EXCO when providing information in support of the decision making process.
- Coordinate and consolidate Midstream Talent Management input (including Development, Performance Management, Succession planning and Reward cycles and processes) and provide guidance to the GSS EXCO and Midstream EXCO in respect of the talent risks, bench strength of the talent pool and talent retention strategies to meet operational needs.
- Takes the lead in the identification and development of talent and successors in the business and provides a work environment that retains quality staff, in partnership with the business leaders.
- Lead the midstream Workforce Planning activities to ensure that the skills mix, manning levels and headcount projections are aligned to future business requirements.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant functional discipline, e.g. Human Resources, Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Business Management or equivalent
- CIPD accreditation or post graduate qualification in Human Resources would be an added advantage.
Experience
- Strong track record of leading a HR function and providing guidance to strategic decision making in resource allocation from a HR perspective within a global organisation.
- A demonstrated thought leader and expert in the understanding and application of HR practices and approaches
- Demonstrated experience in a senior people leadership role within a HR environment, including the coordination of knowledge sharing across disciplines, managing workload and reviewing the work of others to ensure consistency with task requirements
