  • Translates Divisional operational and financial performance measurements for all strategic projects and activities to Departmental level and monitors them to ensure that the Divisional strategic objectives are met
  • Monitors expenditure against budget, makes necessary adjustments to achieve set objectives and reports on performance against budget to EXCO
  • Determines resource requirements for the implementation of approved plans, develops detailed budgets with input from Sectional Managers, and seeks budget approval from EXCO
  • Identifies and implements cost containment measures and projects for the Department to improve Profit & Loss

 

Assets

  • Recommends / approves disposal of obsolete or unserviceable assets within delegated limits of authority
  • Recommends / approves procurement of fixed assets within delegated limits of authority

Customer/Stakeholders

  • Enhances customer experience and promotes the reputation of the corporation by ensuring that the department meets their performance standards and targets in order to meet the airline’s customers’ expectations
  • Maintains effective working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and service providers by ensuring adherence to service level agreements and contractual requirements
  • Supports line manages to shape and implement human resources policies and procedures to promote employee engagement

 

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with Government, other stakeholders and the general public to ensure their support for the overall good and benefit of the Airline

Human

  • Plans performance and jointly signs output agreements with staff, monitors and reviews staff performance, recommends performance based rewards
  • Disciplines staff in accordance with the Airline’s policy and procedures
  • Recommends recruitment, training and promotion of employees within delegated limits of authority

Operational Excellence

  • Leads in the establishment, prioritisation of management projects/initiatives within a specified budget and timeframe to ensure that the airline meets its operational and financial targets
  • Develops and implements Airline’s strategic people agenda, which is aligned to the overall business plan, to drive performance through organizational design and a continued focus on engagement

 

Continuously reviews the Human Resources operating model for alignment with the Airline’s business plan to assess efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

Education: Degree in Human Resources Management /Social Sciences or equivalent. A Master’s degree or an Executive Development Programme would be an added advantage

Experience: Twelve (12) years experience in all aspects of human resources management or human resources development, of which seven (7) years should have been in middle to senior management. Airline/Aviation experience is an added advantage
