Position Summary:
The Audio-Visual Technician is a crucial member of our luxury hotel team, responsible for ensuring the seamless, professional, and elegant execution of all audio-visual aspects for meetings, conferences, events, and in-house systems. This role requires a perfect blend of advanced technical expertise, an impeccable sense of presentation, and a commitment to providing discreet, world-class service to our discerning guests and clients.
Responsibilities
1. Event Execution & Support
- Setup and Operation: Expertly set up, test, operate, and tear down all AV equipment, including sound systems, projectors, video screens, lighting, recording devices, and live streaming equipment for banquets, meetings, and special events.
- Client Consultation: Meet with event planners and clients (both internal and external) to understand their specific AV needs and make professional recommendations to enhance their event experience.
- On-Site Support: Remain on-call and discreetly present during events to anticipate and promptly resolve any technical issues, ensuring zero disruption to the guest experience.
System Maintenance & Integrity
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all hotel AV assets (meeting rooms, ballrooms, public areas, and in-room systems) to guarantee reliability and optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and efficiently repair equipment failures (hardware and software) in a timely manner, minimizing downtime.
- Inventory Management: Maintain a detailed inventory of all AV equipment and accessories, recommending necessary repairs, replacements, or upgrades to maintain a cutting-edge service offering.
Guest Service & Professionalism
- Service Excellence: Deliver consistently high-quality, professional, and courteous service to all guests and internal teams, reflecting the hotel’s 5-star standards.
- Appearance and Conduct: Maintain a pristine, professional appearance and conduct at all times, especially while working in guest-facing areas.
- Training: Provide basic training and assistance to guests or internal staff on the proper use of in-house AV equipment when required.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: degree or diploma in audio visual or equivalent courses related to audio visual; relevant technical certifications or trainings are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an AV Technician, preferably within a luxury hotel, conference centre, or high-end corporate event environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in operating and troubleshooting a wide range of professional AV equipment, including:
- Digital and Analog Mixers (Audio and Video)
- Projectors, LED walls, and display technologies.
- Wired and Wireless Microphones (UHF/VHF)
- Lighting systems (DMX, simple stage washes)
- Video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and related hardware.
The 5-Star Standard:
- Immaculate grooming and presentation are non-negotiable.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure without visible stress.
- Discretion and privacy when working with VIP guests.
