Sefalana Cash & Carry Limited, a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has an opportunity for a seasoned business leader to take up the role of Chief Executive Officer. The position holder will report directly to the Group Managing Director. The position is tenable in Gaborone.
Key Responsibilities
- a) Provide strategic direction to the entire business operations and ensure the delivery of desired business results.
- b) Review critical management reports and spot opportunities for enhancing business performance.
- c) Seek opportunities for future business growth and transformation to ensure resilience and long-term sustainability.
- d) Prepare briefings for the operations board and represent the business at quarterly board meetings.
- e) Proactively apply the requisite due care and diligence initiatives to fulfill fiduciary responsibilities that are expected of senior managers.
- f) Build/maintain mutually beneficial relations with key stakeholders to enhance business performance and strengthen the business’s competitive advantage.
- g) Promote business best practices which seek to cultivate a positive work culture, better staff engagement, commitment, participation, and superior performance.
Requirements
- a) Bachelor’s degree in business management, commerce, retail management, logistics and supply management, finance, or any related field. Additional certifications in business management/administration will be an added advantage.
- b) At least fifteen (15) years’ work experience in senior management positions within the FMCG business sector.
- c) Practical understanding of daily business operations of wholesale/retail outlets, the relevant supply chain logistics, and performance management drivers.
- d) A strong business acumen required to make prudent business decisions, drive business results, and influence management teams.
- e) Strong commitment to ethical business practices, sound corporate governance, and accountability.
- f) Proficient in driving strategy implementation, creating value for all stakeholders, and performance reporting.
- g) Proficient in establishing/maintaining beneficial stakeholder relations with all the key stakeholders.
- h) Possession of a valid Class B driver’s license.
