SSEB implements solar power plants and associated power solutions throughout Botswana. The company wishes to recruit a Chief Technical Officer. Candidates are expected to have a proven record as a Professional Electrical Engineer in senior leadership positions with at least 15 years post-graduate experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of projects with a value greater than BWP 50 million, preparation of electrical construction drawings, bills of quantities, and specifications.
- Preparation of tenders and tender responses, marketing proposals, preparation of FIDIC and JBCC contracts.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Botswana (ERB) as a professional electrical engineer with a valid practicing certificate.
- Experience in design and project management of solar plant installations, grid-tied, hybrid and storage variants, and general electrical design as a Project Director, preferably having held a position as a director of a company.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in BESS systems including UPS, Generators up to 1 MVa, LV and MV installations, Earthing and Lightning protection systems.
- Experience producing technical engineering drawings using CAD software, PLC programming and wiring, use of solar simulation software, thorough knowledge of electrical standards, minimum of BS 7671, SANS 10142, BOS 51, BPC billing, power monitoring, and energy consumption evaluation.
- Have a Driver’s license and be fluent in English.
