ABOUT BURS
The Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) is mandated to collect tax revenue, facilitate trade, manage borders, and play a critical advisory role to Government. BURS has embarked on an exciting transformation journey and aims to attract highly qualified, versatile visionary leaders to drive the change. 1. COMMISSIONER, CORPORATE SERVICES
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Commissioner General, this is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing, developing, and directing successful implementation of the Revenue Service’s Financial Management, Talent Management, ICT, Procurement, Facilities management, and Administrative portfolios, to ensure provision of optimal support in line with the strategic mandate and priorities of BURS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Ensures the strategic alignment of human capital practices with organisational goals focusing on talent acquisition, development, and retention to build a skilled and motivated workforce capable of achieving BURS objectives while complying with sound labour practices and legislation

Leads the development and implementation of ICT strategies to support operational efficiency, data security, and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation

Develops strategies to ensure sound financial management practices, budgeting, and resource allocation to support BURS strategic and operational goals efficiently

Oversees the management of facilities, security and general administrative services to ensure a safe, secure, and efficient working environment for all employees, clients, and visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A Master’s Degree or equivalent in either Business Administration, Human Resources, Information and Communication Technology, Law, Finance, or related field. Training in Leadership is an added advantage

A minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in a senior/executive leadership position within the public sector or a financial services industry.
