Salt Shaker Cafe (Pty) Ltd, trading as Zen Cafe, is a privately owned company based in Gaborone, Botswana. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Restaurant Manager with a passion for exceptional food and hospitality. This role provides leadership and direction to unit-level General Managers and Executive Chefs, ensuring operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and strong financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership to management and staff, fostering a culture of service excellence.
- Drive financial objectives through effective management of people, products, and processes.
- Develop and implement policies to achieve goals related to revenue growth, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct P&L analysis, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
- Ensure consistent adherence to standards of food quality, facility cleanliness, and service procedures.
- Train and mentor General Managers and Executive Chefs in recruitment, training, and retention of high-quality staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations, inspections, and audits, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly.
Requirements
- Diploma and equivalent work-related experience in Hospitality and Tourism is required.
- Qualifications or training in Retail Management.
- Wine Training Certificate will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 or more years of proven success in a high-volume, multi-unit restaurant or retail environment.
- Strong analytical and coaching skills with the ability to diagnose issues and guide teams effectively.
- Flexibility to travel nationwide up to 50% of the time.
