VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 2 OF 2025

The Ministry of Sport and Arts invites applications from talented, decisive, self-driven and qualified citizens of Botswana to fill the following vacant positions tenable in the Ministry of Youth Sport and Culture Headquarters in Gaborone:

1. DIRECTOR -ARTS AND CULTURE (1 POST)

SALARY SCALE: E1 (P512.148-P532.860) per annum.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To coordinate the implementation o( policies, programmes, plans of action of the Department and ensure implementation of the Department strategies.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Initiates the development and review of programmes and polities and coordinates their implementation.
2. Facilitates the development and implementation of the strategy plan for the Department
3. Establishes and coilaborates with strategic partners to improve programme delivery.
4. Assesses the effectiveness and relevance of Arts and Culture programmes and undertakes corrective measures.
5. Promotes and monitors compfcance to set customer service standards.
6. Coordinates the i&ssemination of information related to Arts and Culture policies, programmes and projects.
7. Coordinates national events.
8. Manages the issuance of Arts and Culture research permits
9. Provides professional guidance. coaching and mentoring
10. Reviews and ensures that all unat policies, procedures and interventions are aligned and comply with SHE legislation, protocols and the MOA’s Quality Management Systems.

QUALIFIED APPLICANT’S PROFILE

To be considered for appointment to this position, can&dates must have the following quaifications;

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Cultural Studies or related studies

Applicants should have a minimum of sixteen (16) years post qualification experience of which two (2) years should have been served at Deputy Director level in Government or equivalent level in a prrrate/parastatal organisation.

1. Leave of 30 working days per annum
2. Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays $0% and employee 50%).
3. Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% and employee 5%).
4. 30% Gratuity for employees on fixed term contract
