DISTRICT COORDINATOR/NURSE – SILENCE KILLS SUPPORT GROUP

Job Summary
Silence Kills Support Group wishes to engage a nurse / District Coordinator.
The District Coordinator is a nurse who is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the project’s operations within the Greater Selebi-Phikwe district to ensure efficient implementation. The individual occupying this position is expected to work closely with the Programs Manager in the development and execution of daily project operations. The primary responsibility of the District Coordinator is to provide patient care through the provision of clinical services and to generate routine performance reports for the district. Additionally, the District Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with partners in demand creation to facilitate direct clinical care provision at drop-in centers and/or fixed clinics in all districts.

Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities shall be incumbent upon the position of the District Coordinator.

Duties included:
⦁ Provision of Sexual Reproductive Health services to diverse groups of clients, including adult men and women and young people
⦁ Conducting general medical consultations, diagnosis, and treatment
⦁ Provision of HIV treatment, care, and support to People Living with HIV on-site, and through referral to public health facilities in accordance with national HIV treatment guidelines
⦁ Provision of risk reduction counseling and combination prevention strategies for HIV
⦁ Provision of integrated services for HIV/TB, family planning, and cervical cancer screening.
⦁ Provision and administering of Prep (Pre-Exposure prophylaxis) medication to patients including counselling patient about Prep (use, risks, benefits and side effects).
⦁ Conducting laboratory monitoring tests for HIV, TB, and other general medical conditions
⦁ Provision of basic outpatient health care to clients across the lifespan
⦁ Data entry and results recording into patient medical records
⦁ Compilation of weekly and monthly reports of the facility
⦁ Liaison with DHMTs and other key stakeholders in the district to ensure the community clinic is part of the HIV response structure in the district
⦁ Coordination of EpiC project activities and strategies from demand creation to service delivery of clinical interventions jointly with the project manager
⦁ Close collaboration with demand-creation partners to ensure that targets are met across the HIV services cascade
⦁ Provision of district sensitizations on key populations’ health needs
⦁ Willingness to work flexible routines, including outreach and working with TA clinics in Phikwe.

Qualifications
Minimum requirement
⦁ A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing in Nurse or equivalent from a reputable university
⦁ At least 5 years of experience in Nursing
⦁ Must have experience in managing HIV clients.
⦁ Must have an ARV nurse prescribing and dispensing certificate from a recognized institution.
⦁ Added advantages Advanced Diploma in Family Nurse Practice/Midwifery. Other added advantage are the individual trained on STI/TB and conversant with electronic patient management systems used by Botswana MOHw.
⦁ Prior experience working with Key Populations will also be an added advantage.
