Prospective candidates must be physically fit and ready to work in Open Pit, Open Cast and Underground Mining environments and meet demanding schedules and deadlines.

Responsible for operating heavy duty hydraulic and mechanically operated drilling equipment to drill through rocks for blasting purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drilling holes for blasting, sampling or exploration and maintain parameters as instructed by the Overseer Miner
  • Perform daily inspections, and report any malfunctions
  • Adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensuring a safe organised work environment
  • Maintaining daily log sheets of drilling progress and equipment issues
  • Maintaining accurate hole depth, angle and alignment
  • Ore, waste drilling and ground support
  • Perform pre and post truck operation inspections
  • Assist engineering teams with both planned and breakdown maintenance

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience as a Rig Operator
  • Underground Mining Experience
  • Valid operator certificate
  • Ability to read and write reports in English
  • Valid medical record
  • Team player
