Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising a team of electricians, semi-skilled electricians and power plant operators, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Planning, coordinating, and monitoring electrical and power plant operations, including scheduling and managing resources efficiently.
- Allocating jobs to be undertaken by Artisans and Semi-skilled electricians, specifying required standards and completion time, in line with laid down standard requirements.
- Overseeing the control, operations and maintenance of the electrical and diesel backup systems to ensure the safe and effective control of the system.
- Undertaking regular plant inspections, both statutory and legal under his area of responsibility and always ensure compliance.
- Providing regular training to subordinate staff and ensuring that compliance to training plans is achieved.
Requirements
- National Craft Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical systems installations, operation and maintenance, with previous supervisory experience in a mining environment preferred.
- Registration with a Professional Regulatory Body preferred
- A valid class B driver’s license and good driving record is a must for all positions.
