Boitekanelo College, a leader in providing professional health care education programs is seeking to recruit a skilled and reliable Electrician and Plumber to join our Maintenance team.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who will play a critical role in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults. The incumbents efforts will minimize downtime, maintain safety standards and support the overall success of the College.
Key Responsibilities
- (i) install, inspect, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
- (ii) inspect and troubleshoot electrical issues (wiring, circuit breakers, outlets) and replace faulty components (switches, thermostats, heating elements)
- (iii) address emergency situations, such as tripped breakers, blown fuses, burst pipes or sewer backups
- (iv) conduct routine maintenance checks and preventative maintenance
- (v) ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- (vi) respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
- (vii) report hazards, faults and maintenance needs to Management
- (viii) perform plumbing repairs, including pipes, fittings and drainage systems.
Requirements
- Attention to detail, reliability and accountability, good communication skills, time management and organisational ability.
- The Candidate should have the ability to work with faculty, staff and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three(3) years working experience
- Proven experience in electrical and plumbing maintenance
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations
- Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- Ability to work independently
