Supervises others to deliver prescribed planning outcomes while working within established systems.
Formulates, plans, coordinates and maintains a medium term rollover network programme in line with the long term development plan for all Transmission & Distribution networks to achieve adequate capacity and a reliable network.
Formulates and recommends network and equipment specifications, standards and designs to ensure quality, cost effectiveness and standardization
Plans and recommends changes and/or additions to the system as per long terms Transmission and Distribution plan and recommendations from Operating Regions in order to achieve network optimization and availability of capacity on the system
Designs and/or approves designs of major reticulation systems and installations in accordance with the Transmission & Distribution standards as well as provide cost estimates thereof to ensure cost recovery
Reviews and approves electrical reticulation master plan designs to conform to local authority area development plans
Oversees the provision of Drawing Office services to the Corporation to ensure updating of schematics, information on network infrastructure and other Transmission and Distribution records
Availability of accurate and up-to-date network information
Contract Management
Delivers required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers and working within an established contract management plan.
Works on site with consultants and contractors during pre-energising commissioning and takeover of new equipment to ensure that they conform to BPC’s standards and requirements
Project Management
Delivers own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established program management plan.
Provides technical information and advice on the implementation of the out-sourced Transmission and Distribution Works Programme to ensure an efficient, cost effective and up to standard delivery of projects
Data Collection & Analysis
Analyzes key themes using data from a wide range of sources and identifies possible impacts on the business.
Budgeting & Costing
Takes responsibility for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organization and/or conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems.
Prepares draft budget and controls expenditure against approved budget.
Compliance
Highlights shortcomings and suggests improvements in current compliance processes, systems and procedures within assigned unit and/or discipline
Client & Customer Management (External)
Manages relationships with small clients to ensure their needs are met while supporting senior colleagues in managing more important client and customer relationships
Internal Communication
Executes a communications plan by working within established internal communication systems and procedures

Identifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures.
