JOB TITTLE: Field Service Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will travel to customer sites to do installations, commission, troubleshoot, repair, inventory keeping, event statistics and maintain medical equipment under the company’s portfolio. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical aptitude who can ensure maximum equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains a complete and up to date inventory of equipment for effective management and accounting purposes.
- Carries out investigations on any incidences or accidents involving equipment and prepares an incidence report.
- Participates in the annual budget exercise. Prepares estimates for submission to Finance through established channels.
- Compiles and organizes department statistics concerning efficiency, performance assurance, equipment service, written off equipment and expenditure into a meaningful and useful format.
- Prepares annual departmental report on Service Department activities.
- Develops protocols, procedures and guidelines for maintenance of equipment which are consistent with set standards.
- Monitors scheduling of equipment performance assurance protocols and ensures that it is done on time.
- Evaluates depreciated and damaged equipment and recommends for replacement or refurbishment.
- Monitors performance of subordinates and takes appropriate measures to bridge identified performance gaps. Liaises with in-service coordinators to develop, implement and evaluate in-service education programs.
- Studies social trends which affect use and development in technology as it relates to patient care. Uses this information to identify equipment which can enhance provision of quality health care services.
Requirements
- BSc/B.Eng. in Biomedical/Clinical Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- At least 1-year experience in a Clinical Engineering field.
- Professional experience in maintenance and repair of medical/technical equipment, preferably both high voltage and low.
- Proficient in Computer skills
- Health and safety skills
- Knowledge on handling and caring of clinical equipment.
