Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports for management and the Board
  • Preparing annual financial statements and coordinating the year-end audit
  • Managing cash flow forecasts, budgets and banking relationships
  • Monitoring borrowings, asset finance and repayment obligations
  • Managing VAT, PAYE and other statutory tax compliance
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and financial controls
  • Monitoring and analysing operating costs and financial performance
  • Identifying and reporting financial, cash flow and liquidity risks
  • Supporting management with financial analysis, budgeting and strategic decision-making

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • BICA, ACCA or CIMA membership/ qualification advantageous; part-qualified candidates with strong relevant experience will also be considered
  • Minimum 8 years’ accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance role
  • Sound working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs
  • Strong knowledge of BURS tax compliance, including VAT and PAYE
  • Experience in transport, logistics or another capital-intensive industry will be an advantage
  • Experience with external audits, banking facilities, asset finance and fixed asset management
  • Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong financial and analytical ability
  • Advanced Excel and Financial Modelling Skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance management
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines
