Job Title: FRESH PRODUCE SPECIALIST
Role Purpose:
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring product quality, effective category management, and exceptional service delivery across our retail, wholesale, and hospitality customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the sourcing, handling, grading, and quality assurance of fresh produce
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with farmers and suppliers to ensure consistent product standards
- Manage daily operations including stock forecasting, ordering, and inventory accuracy
- Provide product knowledge and technical support to retail, wholesale, and hospitality customers
- Conduct market research on pricing trends, supply movements, and seasonal availability
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, HACCP requirements, and quality management systems
- Train and guide staff and customers on best practices for fresh produce handling and storage
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in a food-related qualification
- Experience within a hospitality or foodservice environment
- Experience in fresh produce and/or procurement will be an added advantage
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and industry best practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment
